Our Mission

The Taghkanic Fire District was established in 2024 to provide governance, funding, and oversight for fire protection, rescue, and emergency services in the Town of Taghkanic, Columbia County. Through responsible stewardship of public resources, the District supports the dedicated volunteers of the Taghkanic Fire Company in safeguarding the lives, property, and rural character of our community. The Board of Commissioners holds open monthly meetings to ensure transparency, accountability, and public participation in all District operations.
